Alnico arc magnets
Alnico arc magnets are a specific form of alnico magnets shaped into arcs, making them ideal for incorporation into rotating machinery such as electric motors and generators. These magnets are made from an alloy of aluminum, nickel, cobalt, and iron, which grants them excellent thermal stability and resistance to demagnetization. Alnico arc magnets can withstand high temperatures up to 550 degrees Celsius.
Due to their curved shape, alnico arc magnets provide a uniform magnetic field that is essential for efficient performance in rotational applications. They are commonly produced through a casting process, which allows for the complex shapes and sizes required in specific applications. The magnetic characteristics of cast alnico arc magnets include a high residual induction and energy product, although they are not as strong as rare earth magnets.
Their main applications include automotive sensors, speedometers, and various types of electric motors, where their ability to maintain magnetic properties under extreme conditions is highly valued. Alnico arc magnets are particularly favored in legacy applications where their long-term reliability and stability are proven.
